Every year at this time dermatologists are sounding the alarm about the harmful effects of sun exposure and the importance of proper sun protection. Every year we classify them in the graphics and we do our best not to lose the exotic chocolate tan that will make us lustful on the beach. Big mistake.

Neither dermatologists are "graphic" nor the dangers of sun exposure, which year by year becomes even more threatening, it's a beach toy. In the hope that some time will finally learn to adequately protect from the sun , we have collected all the necessary tips that you should keep in mind regarding the use of sunscreen.

The importance of SPF. This is the well-known sunscreen index, which shows us how many times longer we can stay in the sun without burning, than if we didn't wear sunscreen. Minutes, this means that if our fair skin takes ten minutes to burn in the first bath, with an index sunscreen 2 it takes twenty minutes.

No more "quick" tanning. The excuse “I don't wear sunscreen, I want to tan' or 'I put on a low SPF sunblock' is completely non-existent. Therefore no, you won't get a sunscreen with a low index, but with an indicator that meets the needs of your skin, that is 30 with 50 for light skin that burns easily, 10 with 20 for dark or already sun-exposed skin. Sunscreen does not have the magical ability to deactivate the body's melanin production. In other words, sunscreen protects you from burning, not from tanning. Caution on the packaging It should be stated that protection is provided against both UVA and UVB radiation. The second one (the one from which the sunscreens of the previous generation protected us) is responsible for burning. The first one, however, η GRAPES, is responsible for skin cancer. SPF is only about UVB. According to European Union legislation, all sunscreens must clearly state on their packaging that they also protect against UVA radiation. Sunscreen even in the shade You may not burn in the shade - or you may burn hard, if you have fair skin – but the 90% of UVA radiation is reflected from the sand, τη θάλασσα και τα βότσαλα της παραλίας, με αποτέλεσμα να βρίσκει τον στόχο του, δηλαδή το δέρμα σας, ακόμα και στην σκιά.

Προσοχή στη συσκευασία. It should state that both UVA and UVB protection is provided. Pay attention to the expiration date. The sunscreens, like most cosmetics, έχουν διάρκεια ζωής δύο χρόνια, υπό την προϋπόθεση ότι θα παραμείνουν σε ξηρό και δροσερό περιβάλλον. Οι παραλίες, το αυτοκίνητο, οι βαλίτσες ή οι τσάντες μέσα στις οποίες πηγαινοφέρνατε πέρυσι το αντηλιακό σας δεν είναι «ξηρό και δροσερό περιβάλλον». Κατανοητό;

Αδιάβροχο; Χμ! Κανένα αντηλιακό δεν είναι 100% αδιάβροχο. Απλώς, some are more water resistant than others. After twenty minutes of swimming, there is no trace of sunscreen on your skin, so repeat after us: «Θα βάζω αντηλιακό κάθε δύο ώρες ή μετά από κάθε βουτιά ή μετά από κάθε ρακετοσετ».
